演讲者信息(Speaker)

Juan是智利大学生物科学学院和物理学院的跨学科教授,也是清华大学深圳研究生院Open FIESTA的客座教授。在普林斯顿大学完成博士学位并在不同领域进行博士后研究后,他汇集了所获得的见解,并在荷兰代尔夫特理工大学开设了他的研究小组。目前,他在物理学和生物学的界面进行研究,以了解细胞如何组织成社区和组织,以及空间和邻接关系在决定这种组织中的作用。


在他的整个职业生涯中,Juan一直非常积极地培养他作为科学家发展的年轻人的创造力。通过DIY生物学和电子学等方法学习,以及实现大学以外的黑客空间和研究社区的作用,为不断发展的教育范式提供替代平台。


Juan is an interdisciplinary professor at the School of Biological Sciences and the School of Physics at the P. Universidad Catolica de Chile and visiting professor at Open FIESTA at Tsinghua University Shenzhen Graduate School. After finishing his PhD at Princeton University and conducting postdoc studies in different fields, he brought together insights gained and started his research group at the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. Currently he conducts research at the interface of physics and biology in order to understand how cells organize into communities and tissues and what are the roles of space and adjacency relationships in determining such organization.

传统学习平台已无法满足新一代学习者的需求,利用开源科学硬件学习的方法正在逐渐兴起,Open FIESTA Talk此次计划就此话题在深圳展开关于创新、硬件与教育结合的讨论。开源科学硬件有望给教育注入深圳速度,并有机会让教育领域碰撞出一些交叉创新的火花。


本周六,我们将邀请您一同讨论开源科学硬件如何改变未来的学习范式。


As traditional learning platforms are failing the educational needs of a new generation of learners and teachers, a new methodology has emerged: “learning through research with Open Science Hardware (OSH)”. The aim of this Open FIESTA Talk is to have an open conversation about this development from the perspective of Shenzhen's open innovation ecosystem. As OSH is expected to become more and more mainstream, the traditional methods for doing science are changing at SZ speed. Traditional education struggles to fill the void and satisfy the interest of new young, interdisciplinary learners who have access to all knowledge but who are rather motivated to create new disciplines a new sciences fitted to the expectations of a new globalized, multidisciplinary young generation in an ever more connected world facing increasingly complex challenges.


We will start with a short talk, but the aim of the gathering is to have a conversation among participants so we can learn from each other's views about this new developments which we believe are changing the current paradigm of education.
